During his Tourism Development Keynote, Jeremy Gutsche discussed how businesses can develop during times of economic hardship. He used a variety of examples, including how popular companies like Disney, CNN and The Jim Henson Company were all founded during economic recessions. Gutsche dove into the importance of identifying these changes taking place, and recognizing the various opportunities that come about when businesses pay attention to consumers, and cultural shifts. By understanding these changes, companies can understand the wants and needs of their customers, and thrive regardless of the unstable economic terrain.
