Jeremy shared his Insurance Brokerage Keynote with the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta. IBAA is a non-profit association that provides members with education and support in the trade. The company has a mission to strengthen the insurance broker, and provide professional and reliable service to all members. During his keynote, Jeremy discussed his award-winning book, ‘Exploiting Chaos,’ and the different strategies for innovating a business and understanding the competition. To illustrate the importance of responding to cultural shifts and developments, Jeremy used the example of Smith Corona, a typewriting company that admittedly refused to switch to computing. Eventually, the company went bankrupt due to their inability to recognize change and adjust accordingly. Jeremy’s Insurance Brokerage Keynote drew from these examples, explaining how recognizing the innovations around one’s business is crucial for development.
